I think it's a very bad move of @Purism to cooperate with service.

First of all a VPN service can see your entire webtraffic and who tells me that it's not the running the servers?

Second of all, I don't trust a website that works with and cookies...

I really think this could hurt Purisms reputation which is sad, because I am really looking forward to the

@choboDOC

First, if a VPN service can works for NSA, you ISP works for sure with the counter-intelligence of its country.

Second, if you don't trust it, just don't use it. PureOS is 100% free software.

I don't understand what is the problem.

@Purism

@Torrone it lets the you think he is secure, but he isn't! Better work with Tor and integrated them properly

@choboDOC @Purism

@jr

It's unsecure compared to what?

It all depends on the threat model.
To say that TOR is better is false. TOR is not suitable for all purpose.

There is no need to artificially put them in competition. Use TOR when you need TOR and use a VPN when you need a VPN.

@choboDOC @Purism

@Torrone but also no security in general... you traffic is only routed via the VNP provider not your ISP

But yeah also tor doesn't bring security... just anonymity, but that's what you want with this kind of service

@choboDOC @Purism

@jr

No.
A lot of web sites or services are not usable or should not be used via TOR but can be used via VPN.

Maybe it's not your case but they are a lot of people who a VPN and not TOR.

@choboDOC @Purism

@Torrone the main fault for not usable web via TOR is Cloudflare in my eyes...

But what I wanted to say there is no difference between your ISP and a VPN provider

@choboDOC @Purism

@choboDOC
@Purism
Let all security and privacy savvy people use a single ISP through VPN, sounds reasonable.
